Reviews
Against all the odds, <em>'The Jurassic Games'</em> is actually entertaining. This has all the makings of a truly terrible film, with its average acting, writing and special effects. However, honestly, it somehow manages to make it all work. It's very similar to 2007's <em>'The Condemned'</em>, though does add different aspects from dinosaurs to video game-style levels. Its special effects are surprisingly passable, not great by any measure but considering the level of this film they are relatively good - definitely above what you'd expect of the usual cheap sci-fi productions. Likewise with the sets, cast and David Stone Hamilton's score. Ryan Merriman plays The Host fairly well, while Adam Hampton (Tucker) leads the rest comfortably. I won't remember any of the performances, but that's not to say what they give is bad. They match what the film produces. This is nothing to set the world alight, but I think it deserves minor praise for exceeding expectations. I'd watch it again, which can't always be said for these type of productions.
